Melbourne concerts & events 2027
Summer stadium nights in Docklands, long runs at Rod Laver Arena, the old theatres of St Kilda and Flinders Street: the Melbourne 2027 calendar, updated as tours are announced, with a free alert for presales.
Melbourne concerts 2027: the year so far
As of 9 October 2026, Melbourneโs 2027 calendar is already crowded, and most of the weight sits in the first five months. BTS bring their ARIRANG world tour to Marvel Stadium on 10, 12 and 13 February, and Bruno Mars follows at the same Docklands ground with four nights of The Romantic Tour (19, 20, 23 and 24 February). Before either of them, System of a Down open the stadium season there on 27 January.
Across the river at Melbourne Park, Rod Laver Arena carries the longest list. Radiohead have six nights booked between 13 and 20 May, Sombr plays three in a row from 15 April, and The Strokes (16โ17 February), Bryan Adams (5 and 7 March), Evanescence (9โ10 March), Niall Horan, Kehlani, Jungle, beabadoobee, The Script, Megan Moroney and Westlife (20 July) fill much of the rest. Next door, Margaret Court Arena hosts The Fray, Tove Lo, Delta Goodrem and UB40.
Outdoor nights matter here. Calvin Harris has three dates at Flemington Racecourse (25, 26 and 28 February), Empire of the Sun, Lizzy McAlpine and Bryson Tiller play the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, and Jorja Smith closes the Bowlโs year on 13 November. The full list, sorted by date, is on our 2027 calendar.
Theatres, ballrooms and basements: the smaller rooms
Melbourneโs reputation was built in rooms that hold a few hundred to a few thousand people, and 2027 is no different. The Palais Theatre in St Kilda, the biggest seated theatre in the country, has a run of heritage acts: The Human League, Belinda Carlisle, ABC, Squeeze, Level 42, Del Amitri, Micky Dolenz and, much later, Passenger on 29 October.
On Flinders Street, Forum Melbourne has Hayley Williams, Angus & Julia Stone (two nights), Holly Humberstone, Clutch, Public Image Ltd and Tash Sultana. Festival Hall in West Melbourne, the old โHouse of Stoushโ, books Beartooth, CAKE, Sienna Spiro and Malcolm Todd. Underneath Russell Street, 170 Russell handles the heavy and the niche: JME, Igorrr, Carpenter Brut, THROWN, Drain and Rachel Chinouriri. Our venue guide covers each room, with tram and train directions.
Summer, autumn, winter: how the Melbourne year runs
The pattern is predictable. International tours land from January to April, when touring routes take in Australia and New Zealand between northern-hemisphere seasons, and when outdoor sites like the Bowl, Flemington and the Royal Botanic Gardens can be used. That window also overlaps with the Australian Open in January, the Laneway Festival on 19 February, Golden Plains at Meredith over the Labour Day long weekend (6โ8 March) and the Comedy Festival from 24 March. In 2027 the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix moves to early April, so Albert Park traffic and accommodation pressure arrive later than usual.
From May the city goes indoors. Arena runs like Radioheadโs fit the colder months, and the football season dominates weekends at the MCG and Marvel Stadium until the AFL Grand Final in late September. Spring brings the racing carnival and a second, smaller touring season that usually gets announced around mid-year. See our festival page for the outdoor events.
How tickets go on sale in Australia
Australian tours are usually announced six to ten months out, and the first tickets go to presales rather than the public. A typical rollout is a fan-club or artist presale, then a promoter presale (My Live Nation, Frontier Touring members, TEG or Chugg lists), sometimes a card or telco presale such as Amex or Telstra Plus, and finally the general sale a day or two later. Queues open on Ticketek, Ticketmaster or AXS depending on the venueโs contract: Melbourne Park venues sell through Ticketek and Marvel Stadium through Ticketmaster.
On-sale times are announced in local time, which in summer means AEDT. For big Melbourne shows, Victoriaโs Major Events Act also lets the government declare an event, which makes reselling a ticket above 10 % of face value an offence. Our tickets guide goes through each step.
